Background
"Mitima" reflects the heart and spirit of the Sidama coffee tradition—a name that speaks to the dedication woven into every stage of the coffee's journey, from the hands that tend the trees to the care taken in processing.
For generations, coffee has been a source of livelihood, opportunity, and continuity for the communities of Sidama. More than a crop, it connects farming families, sustains local economies, and carries forward a shared tradition passed down through generations.
Like its name, Mitima is a reminder of the heart behind every harvest—the commitment, care, and connection that bring coffee from origin to cup.

Community lots are sourced from smallholder farmers surrounding a single washing station, capturing the shared character of a community.

Mitima at Metima Station
Mitima is our Community Lot sourced from smallholder farmers surrounding the Maketa area in Sidama Bensa. The coffee is processed at Metima Washing Station, located at elevations ranging from 2,100 to 2,300 meters above sea level, drawing from the surrounding areas of Maketa, Shigasho, and Genet. Supported by 504 dedicated coffee suppliers and farmers, Metima offers an ideal environment—sunny, surrounded by vegetation—for producing high-quality coffee that reflects the rich natural history of the region.
