Maketa

Background

Maketa washing station is located at an altitude of 2100–2300 meters and sources its coffee from the surrounding areas of Maketa, Shigasho, and Genet. The station is named after the nearby kebele "Maketa," which in turn was named after a man called Maketa. He was known as the pioneer who cleared the dense forest and founded the kebele, leaving a lasting legacy in the area. Today, the station works with 504 dedicated coffee suppliers and farmers, producing high-quality coffee that reflects the rich natural environment and history of the region.

Processing Method 

  • Natural Coffee - Cherries are dried without excessive thickness on raised beds.
