Background

Korma Kontoma is a coffee station located in Murago Kebele, Kontoma area, at an altitude of 2100 to 2300 meters above sea level. The name "Kontoma" originates from an old tradition when hunters would gather in a large open field surrounded by a dense forest before dispersing in different directions. They would agree to reunite at this field, calling it "Kontoma," which means "accumulation." Over time, the area became known by this name. With its rich history and high-altitude environment, Korma Kontoma provides ideal conditions for producing exceptional coffee, deeply connected to the land’s heritage and natural beauty.

Processing Method 

  • Natural Coffee - Dried more slowly than washed coffee.

- Takes 14-16 days to fully dry.

  • Washed Coffee - Fermented for 72 hours to remove mucilage.

- Thoroughly washed and dried on beds for 11-12 days.
