Bereka Daye Bensa
Background
In Ethiopian coffee culture, the ceremony unfolds in three meaningful rounds—Abol, Tona, and finally Bereka. The third round, Bereka, is the lightest, yet it carries the deepest meaning. It represents blessing, peace, and gratitude, a final moment where community gathers not just to drink coffee, but to share connection and intention. It is said that the true blessing comes in this final cup.
Like the spirit of Bereka, this coffee is not about intensity, but about harmony and presence—a cup that brings people together, offering a moment of calm and shared experience.
Bereka at Horaela Station
Bereka is one of our classic lot processesed at Horaela Station, located in a mountainous area of Sidama, Eastern Zone, Chire Woreda, at elevations ranging from above 1,800 to 2,100 meters above sea level.
The name “Horaela” comes from a local area known for its natural mineral water source—respected by the community for its refreshing and life-sustaining qualities. In many ways, this mirrors the meaning of Bereka itself: blessing, renewal, and continuity.
Horaela Station collects coffee from surrounding kebeles including Horaela, Chire, Abaye Taka, Burqayesa, and Qalo, with contributions from around 650 dedicated smallholder farming households. The cherries are grown at high elevations and develop slowly, allowing for clarity, balance, and natural sweetness.
