Keramo Daye Bensa

Keramo is our station found in Bensa Area, Sidama. It is named after the place well known for its exquisite coffee, where the station is situated at. The station is found at the highest elevation.

This station receives coffee from about 381 smallholder farmers growing and harvesting coffee in and around Keramo, Sidama, Ethiopia. The place is also known for its rich vegetation and climate. Keramo farmers have built a reputation for picking only red cherries, and in 2020 Daye Bensa Coffee earned a Cup of Excellence award with coffee from the station.

Keramo is situated in a very high altitude area which gives the complex coffee profile, the red cherry maturity period a lot longer than the usual Ethiopian coffee. This long period in maturation is believed to give this coffee its distinct character.

The Natural coffees are dried on raised beds that are 25 meters long. Drying takes 15–20 days, weather depending.

Cupping profile consists of crowd pleasing natural taste with a wonderful balance of delicious fruit and bright acidity.
